IT’S #BLOGMAS DAY 11 – MERRY MONDAY
How do you organise yourself for the week ahead?
Are you a Sunday planner or a one day wonder?
Monday Motivation is always welcome in my life as I am sure it is in yours. So, I thought it might be a nice idea to share some ‘ Merry Monday Motivation‘ in the hope of getting everyone in a bit more of a Christmassy spirit than they already are. Between tinsel, naughty elves and a ridiculously large amount of twinkle lights my Christmas spirit is fit to prednisolone sodium 75mg BURST.
FRESH & CLEAN
When you have a clean house you will most likely feel better about yourself and anything that you are planning to do next. You know the saying ‘Tidy House, Tidy Mind‘ – it really is true. Much like having a blank canvas, although it can be quite daunting it is actually pretty great to have a fresh outlook on things before undertaking a new task.
Seriously, go easy on yourself. When you put extra pressure on yourself to get things done you will be much less productive and chances are you won’t get a sniff of a tick on that long ass to do list you got going on. Take a step back, breath, make a coffee, text a friend and allow your brain to rest of a minute or two. After you have settled in a calm space (mind, body , spirit and all that!) then you will be able to take on whatever task you have in mind to the best of your ability.
SHARE THE LOAD
After you have made your list, go through it from the top but with the idea of delegation. Delegation really is a leaders best friend and although this post has sod all to do with leadership daily life actually does. You are the leader of your daily life and if you can delegate even the smallest task to someone else or to another time for yourself then you may find that you won’t be so stressed out and actually get it done instead of watching it go on list after list. After all sharing is caring!
WRITE IT DOWN
I’m sure it is not just me that suffers from that moment in time where you know you have something important to do but you just can’t quite remember what it is. Well, welcome to my world or constant organised disorganisation! I have about 10 million notebooks and only one brain – so I try and use one piece of paper per day so I don’t mix myself up and I also use the notes section on my phone if I have to. My calendar is an app on my phone that really should get used more but I have only recently discovered how good it actually is to have everything synced up. On that note …
SYNC YOUR LIFE
Sounds ridiculous especially for someone who uses technology on a daily basis. BUT even those of us that literally live through our computers and phones have to be reminded every now and then to sync and reboot. That goes for your phones, laptops, iPads etc. If you have a piece of tech that can sync just do it. I am quite selective with my syncs as I have a lot of stuff that I would prefer to keep in just one place. That being said having my calendar everywhere is a great plus point.
This is where I harp on a little more about taking a much needed break. Even though it is the general consensus that technology rules the world you can have a day off. It is not the end of the world if an insta post that you are loving doesn’t get posted today bang on the hour. Save it, put the phone down and chill. Take some time for just you.
