Morning, morning everyone! I would say rise and shine but I am guessing if you are reading this you need not rise but could possibly want to shine. This morning I am surprisingly perky after finishing my first night shift out of three. The one thing I wanted to share was my 6am observation. Now this may not be something you want to read about but I figured some of the time it is just nice to sit back and observe your surroundings. So at 6am I took my cup of steaming hot caffeine downstairs to the back of the hospital and watched the world go by for approximately 15 minutes. During such time I noticed three different sets of people. So the 6amer’s were as follows:

HAPPY TIRED DRUNK YET WIDE AWAKE

This group of two men and a woman were skipping (literally!) merrily down the road and shouting at the top of their voices for everyone to listen – WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING DO YOU NOT THINK SO?! Now as I was on the other side of the road far away from their direct line of fire I found this absolutely hilarious as you could see that they were clearly heavily intoxicated from their night of debauchery prior to this mornings athletics trials through Gower Street. There was however a lady that looked like she wanted to be swallowed by a black hole whilst they followed her to the underground station asking incessantly ‘DO YOU NOT THINK IT IS A BEAUTIFUL MORNING?!’ Poor lady – right?!

THE WANDERERS

Various waifs and strafes who just happen to be out roaming the streets and this time of the morning. They seem to walk with no purpose however look constantly bemused by their erratic surroundings. As I rarely walk like I am in a hurry I could easily be mistaken for one of these – but I was on the other side of the fence watching the passers-by.

WORKER BEES

These specific individuals are walking with something that can be easily mistaken as a spring in their step but to the ones that know they are running late. A stack of papers crammed untidily under ones arm, a coffee cup in the other hand and a mobile phone either held by their teeth or trying to pry it out of their pocket with their paper stacked arm. A couple of pieces of paper escape and their world collapses in front of them. The ultra organised with their roll case bags and paper neatly tucked under their arm with a steaming cup of coffee in their hand, bespectacled, gloves, hats and scarfs at the ready to brave the elements. These organised mortals are the elite of the morning group and the ones we look at in disbelief (How do they do it?!).

Welcome to my morning view – sorry it’s slightly late!

HAVE A GREAT READING WEEK GUYS 😀

(Please excuse the lack of well most things in this post I am staying up to prepare for my night shift and quite sleepy whilst writing this!)

Fay

Over the past couple of months I seem to have forgotten to post about the products that I have recently run out of so this is that post!

February Favourites

This is the collection that seems to have taken over a corner of my shelf. Please do bear in mind that this is from January also.

Now down to the nitty-gritty – I have taken some stand alone pictures of my absolute favourites but not all of the products. If you would like to know where certain products came from please do get in touch.

Hair Care

February Hair Products

My arsenal of hair products seems to be growing by the day. This little collection has done my hair a good turn and each product does a good job in a variety of situations.
As a collective it can be quite expensive, however when bought separately the prices are quite manageable. As my hair is quite difficult to maintain I seem to spend more of such products than make-up however in the long run it is definitely worth it.

Twisted Sista Hair Care

This collection was found in my local 99p store and I am extremely happy with the results when used as a collective and singularly. The 30 second spray really lives up to its name and I would happily pay three times the price for the products (Only £3!)

Macadamia & Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment

Both of these products are just wonderful. My hair-line always seems to be the driest part of my hair and breaks very easily. It got to the point that it was only growing to the length of my little finger and no longer. Macadamia Healing Oil Spray really did the trick when used with regular conditioning treatments, wrapping and keeping my hair-line moisturised. This spray gave my hair the boost it needed and kept it from getting overly dry. The Moroccan Oil Treatment is one that can be used in a multitude of ways and I chose to use a very small amount and massage it into my scalp. This aided my straighteners to give me a sleek look that lasted more than three days. Both products are quite pricey compared to most hair treatments however they last for more than three months if used as advised – a little goes a long way!

Lips, Nails etc . . .

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

This is an essential part of anyones beauty shelf if you want extra soft lips and a good base for all those wonderful lipsticks available. This little pot of joy is quite cheap and lasts a while, however unlike I did do not let your pot dry out. Speak to the lovelies at Lush and they will advise you on the best way to stop this happening. That is something I must do today as this little pot is sadly hard as nails! Oh and it smells divine – there are other scents 😀

Chanel Nail Colour Remover

Chanel to me is always a little luxury that I love to buy. The packaging is delightfully sleek and has a feel of quality as well as just being gorgeous. This nail polish remover lasted me a while and got rid of some of the most stubborn nail polishes over the past 6 months. Compared to most removers on the market this one would be considered over priced but as it lasts so long and you only need a little get off some of the toughest colours it is most definitely worth it. The other thing that is just pure vanity on my part – the liquid is PINK!!!

Chanel Illuminating Base Make Up

As I approached the Chanel counter my eyes frantically scanned for this little bottle of joy. No such luck – apparently there is a new product that has taken its place. Bitterly disappointed is one way of putting my feelings, utterly livid at myself for not stocking up is another! This base served me well for almost a year, another testament to a little goes a long way and not heavily overpriced for what it is. The replacement – well lets just say that will be reviewed another time.

Dior Addict Eau Sensualle

This extremely feminine scent got me through the winter months with a smile on my face and a sniff of many passers-by. The volume drastically reduced and I only found out it was because my mum was taking a sneaky daily couple of squirts. I already have a replacement waiting in the box but for now I have moved on to the delightful Versace Vanitas – it smells scrumptious.

March will be a more manageable bunch – I promise! 😀

As I have been reading Ruth Ozeki’s – A Tale for the Time Being I think this links nicely to culture of the book.

I love to make things and for this to be so simple and made from every day materials just makes it even better. This is my first try at a Kusudama flower and I am quite happy with it!

I will be posting a how to tutorial later today after a trip to the craft store!!

This is the photo from yesterday so today’s photo will be posted later today to catch up!!

There may be days that I post two or three photos per day depending on what my schedule is. There will be four weekly catch ups and then if I get the time I will do a post at the end of the month linking to all four weekly catch ups so you can see my findings for this month.

Here are the titles for the daily pictures and what I aspire to get pictures of:

Friday 1st March

I wanted to get a picture that showed L for Light but had to look in my back catalogue and found the following picture.

Sun from the plane

This was taken by my iPhone from a plane trip to Rome if I remember rightly. I love taking pictures above the clouds and this one just puts me in quite a peaceful place.

Now get yourselves over to Fat Mum Slim and take part – when you look back at the photos you take you may even surprise yourselves!
You don’t need a blog to take part there are many different ways. Check out FMS for all the different ways you can participate.
