Pardon my french but what a shitty week. Last week really was one of the busiest I have had at work with shortage of staff the NHS really is in a bad way. Thankfully blogging is a way for me to release the tension and just chill. This weekend however was absolutely wonderful as I was able to chill with my best friend, my other half and a great work colleague. How has your week been?
So close, soooo close to the end of this and it is just amazing.
This is the next lovely on my list. Just look at that tasty cover – perfect for a spring read right?! The Cake Shop in the Garden is released on April 23rd – you can pre-order now on Amazon.
I have been looking for a waterfall coat for a while now. The one I really want to get my hands on is the well known Zara Waterfall Coat – it came in both camel and grey and I have to say if I could I would have both. Sadly those being out of stock means I am still on the hunt.
These guys are hanging out somewhere in my room and I just cannot wait to find them in time for summer. Comfortable, airy and just the perfect fit. Have you tried them?
This is one of the products I received in my goody bag from the Bloggers Fashion Week event. When it comes to new skincare I am somewhat dubious about using new products as I have extremely sensitive skin. On my first use as usual I followed the instructions to the letter and have to say I was happy with the results. Of course I cannot yet review the product yet as I have only used it once.
I have been using this daily scrub for some time now and I have to say I LOVE it! The review for it will be up on Wednesday! Keep your eyes peeled.
It seems that I have become some kind of Essie addict. Now I have to say this is one addiction that I am not ready to give up on easily! These two colours are the newest of the collection and one of which that I have been coveting for some time. Mint Candy Apple ladies and gents that’s right. I think the next one will have to be Rock The Boat – it is just the right shade of blue for spring.
I had an insanely great weekend especially the Sunday! You may have seen on Instagram a couple of pictures that I put up. I am not putting up any pictures on this post as I will be posting here and there this week about what I got up to.
I realise that this song is not either of the originals but it is a beautiful mix up and just makes me smile when I listen to it. What do you think? I would be a bit surprised if you haven’t heard it yet as it has done the rounds on social media over the past month or two.
If i’m honest it’s been a bit of a tough week so whilst I am sitting here on Monday evening finally writing this post after a heck of a busy day I am thinking back on what I have actually read. Not that much altogether which bothers me but otherwise I go quite a bit of commenting done and other stuff! I have really enjoyed being more active on Twitter, Pinterest and even Goodreads – really should do it more often.
I am almost there. Guys I am so close to the end.
I really should start taking this seriously as I need to get through it asap!
Over the past couple of weeks I have been sent some fabulous books but have yet to get around taking photos of them. I may write a book mail post for later in the week. If not keep your eyes peeled for the book stack!
These have been staple items in this weeks beauty regime – over the past month I have been trying to take care of my skin and have had the opportunity to try some amazing products which over the next couple of weeks I will be letting you know how I get on.
I saw these great PJ’s online from Primark and think I may have to make a little trip. As I am trying to save money spending more time at home is something that I will be doing more often than I usually do.
Otherwise on Blog A Book . . .
After getting out of a nice hot bath there is nothing better than slathering on this moisturiser. It is incredibly thick and actually feels like it is keeping my skin smooth. With cold weather it is nice to hydrate the skin and for the moment this is my moisturiser of choice – plus it doesn’t irritate my extremely sensitive skin.
Whilst out walking the dog the other day I noticed that most of the daffodils have now bloomed. I couldn’t resist stopping to take a couple of snaps. I love spring mornings especially when there aren’t that many people around. Nice and chilled.
Not that I live in a country that can say that flip-flops and sandals are the shoes used most. However in the house, at the gym and at certain times of year they are the best thing ever. Especially when I am lucky enough to escape the wind and rain for sunny beaches and poolside bars. On my most recent holiday I was impressed with my packing skills as on the footwear side of things I packed only two pairs of flip flops and a pair of trainers – good right?!
Brazil is one place on earth that is renowned for its love for colour, beauty and life. Ipanema is a brand that produces not only aesthetically pleasing footwear but a brand that helps preserves the planet. They mix beauty with honesty and what can be bad about that?!
With a keen eye for helping the environment Ipanema refuse to use rubber from the precious Amazon rainforest of which Brazil have a 60% share of the vast 2.1 million square miles of plush land. Instead all materials are made of 100% recyclable PVC which can be recycled many times over in effect reducing the carbon footprint of the company. Their ethics are as outstanding as their style and flare for design.
Knowing the companies principles makes it a lot easier to make a wish list of beautiful items. Not only will I have comfort but peace of mind. There are many ethically challenged brands around and this is most certainly not one of them.
Ipanemas positivity does not end there. The footwear is produced in local north Brazilian factories which provides support for the local economy and its people providing health care and educational opportunities to bare further fruit for country as a whole. Around the world there are factories in which some brands still use child labour however working with the Brazilian government the law of not employing those under the age of 16 is strictly adhered to.
