Firstly let me admit that this isn’t the most Christmassy of posts but it was a bloody lovely menu and I thought it would be worth sharing for you lovelies so you can experience it before Christmas is upon us! From the Sister Special with a side of halloumi to the Shroom of Doom and all the sides under the sun I am one happy lady just knowing that one of my favourite places in Balham is now open even longer than before. A few weeks ago (time is certainly flying by!) i met up with two lovely ladies from KK Communications at the lovely Brother Marcus and as we chatted away we were served so very delicious eats.
The evening menu includes a variety of loaded buns where you also have the option to go bunless (get those minds out the gutter people!) as well as a small collection of cocktails. The one thing that really made this menu stand out to me is that the choice may not be endless but there is something for everyone and it really is easy to choose what you want from a list of personal likes, that also goes for the cocktails. I don’t know if it just me but when I am presented with a long list of food and drink it can be quite overwhelming so this was incredibly welcoming. At the time I was sick and driving so was unable to enjoy any of the cocktails but I look forward to going back as I have seen pictures elsewhere and they look absolutely fantastic.
The portion sizes are quite big so my advice would be not to go too crazy on the side orders and really think about whether you have had a big lunch before. Another reminder would be save some room for dessert as they looked absolutely fantastic but I was so stuffed that I practically had to roll myself out of the door and to my car. If you don’t have a chance to get down there in the evening please do get over there for their brunch as the menu despite a lot of similar dishes in breakfast menus is actually a lot tastier and so worth finding this place (which is easy!). Get yourself to Balham station and it is a 2 minute walk from the station to Chestnut Grove – problem solved right?!
The opening hours for Brother Marcus are
8am – 3:30pm
6pm – 11pm
